Google Reader never ranked anything and neither does Gazette. Newest first, every source, no AI, no suggestions.

Paste an X handle, a YouTube channel or a subreddit and it becomes a feed. Track any web page for changes. Route newsletters into a folder.

Bring your OPML
Still have your Google Takeout subscriptions.xml, or an OPML from any reader since? Import it from Settings. Folders are preserved.

Questions from Google Reader veterans
- Does Gazette support the Google Reader API?
- Yes. Gazette exposes a Google Reader compatible sync endpoint. Any client that supports FreshRSS or Google Reader style accounts can sync subscriptions, read state and stars with it.
- Which apps work with it?
- NetNewsWire (Mac, iPhone, iPad), Reeder, lire, Newsboat and other clients with a Google Reader or FreshRSS account type. Enter trygazette.com as the server, your email as the username and the sync password from Settings.
- Are the keyboard shortcuts the same?
- The important ones are: j and k to move between items, u to toggle read, s to star, Enter to open the original, v to switch view, / to search and ? for the full list.
- Is it chronological?
- Always. Gazette has no ranking, recommendations or AI. Folders can optionally balance items across sources so one noisy feed cannot bury the others, but order inside each source is by publish time.
- Can I import my old Google Reader data?
- If you kept your Google Takeout export, the subscriptions.xml file inside it is standard OPML and imports directly. Stars and read state from 2013 cannot be restored.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing. Gazette is free for every feature and supported by ordinary in-feed ads.
