- Do I need an X account?
- No. Gazette fetches the public posts of the accounts you add. You never sign in to X.
- Which accounts can I follow?
- Any public X account. Private accounts and accounts that have blocked the reader cannot be fetched.
- How fresh are the posts?
- Gazette checks accounts on a regular schedule, so new posts usually appear within minutes rather than instantly. It is a reader, not a live feed.
- Can I see replies and quote posts?
- Gazette shows the account's own posts, reposts and quote posts. Reply threads from other people are not pulled in, which is most of the noise.
- Can I mute topics?
- Yes. Filter rules match keywords in the title or body and can apply to one source, a folder, or everything.
- Is this allowed?
- Gazette reads public profiles the same way a browser without an account does, respects rate limits, and never republishes posts at public URLs. Publishers can ask for removal at any time.
